Civil War writing kit
This Civil War writing kit is a reproduction of a Northern soldier’s kit. A photo of an original can be seen in the Time-Life Civil War series on page 74 of “Tenting Tonight.” This reproduction was purchased from The Regimental Quartermaster, www.regtqm.com, and was made by Dixie Leather Works of Paducah, Kentucky. The Dixie Leather tag is hidden inside the kit, and I assume the Brooks Bros. tag is for historical purposes. The kit includes reproduction stationery and two cedar pencils.
