I lived in New Philly and I would get Kline's chips at Mary Zifer's. God I loved those chips! Corell's is still around, and I used to buy them when I couldn't find Kline's. Corell's is still available in the Akron area Acme stores.
I will see if Conn's are available online.
When I moved to Akron in the mid 80's I wished that Kline's came to the Akron area.
Anyone know how far North up 77 Conn's comes? I wish we had them in Akron.

Don Mullett, owner, was my uncle. I worked every Saturday washing the route trucks and cleaning up when I was a senior in high school. Uncle Don paid me $20.00, which was big money in 1968. Uncle Don instilled the value of work and the ability to do what ever in life I wanted. A great man who I think of and is in my prayers every day.

I WAS A DELIVERY DRIVER FOR KLINE IN THE EARLY 80'S. I REMEMBER THE EARLY MORNING DRIVES INTO BOLIVER AT 5:00 AM SO I COULD BE AT MY FIRST STOP BY 6:00 AM. AT THE END OF MY DAY, I HAD TO RESTOCK MY TRUCK. I REMEMBER THE UNIQUE AROMA OF THE PLANT AS THE CHIPS RAN DOWN THE CONVEYOR BELT INTO THE BAGGING DEPT.
SORRY TO HEAR THEY ARE GONE

My uncle is co-owner of Conn's. My cousins pretty much run the factory in Zanesville. They bought it a few years ago but Conn's has been loved down here for decades. A staple in cupboards and picnics.

I will keep your parents in my prayers, Steve. I can understand a little about how difficult this can be after going through it with an aunt. Your parents are great people and they raised a wonderful family! God bless!

Eating these chips takes me back to 1987. Belmont, Ohio. My first job after graduating from art school, and my apartment.

Since I posted this, I've actually started watcing "Peter Gunn" in reruns on the Retro channel. I love it. I have the first soundtrack album on vinyl and love it too. Stevens was very good as Pete. Always cool, reserved and tough as nails.

That's great, George. Thanks! I'm going to look for the old plant the next time I'm in the area. I'll keep an eye out for one of those Kline's Potato Chip cans, too.

I can answer that! The Kline's factory still stands, although it was built onto by the last owner. It stands right next to the Bolivar Police Dept. on Canal St. (downtown). Klines Chips used to come in cardboard boxes and in cans. I am still trying to locate a Kline's Potato Chip can that is in good shape, I have one, but it is not in good shape.
