Puppy cam sensation
Have you seen the latest Web video that’s all the rage? If not, you should — it’s downright adorable! It’s a live puppy cam that a San Francisco couple set up on the free service Ustream.tv to keep an eye on their dog’s six new Shina Ibu puppies while they are at work. Over the past month, Ustreamtv says 4 million visitors from around the world have tuned in, eager to watch the fluffy puppies play, eat, and sleep — mostly sleep, judging from what I’ve seen.
The couple chooses to remain anonymous — all we see of them is feet and hands as they feed the puppies, or play with them. And, don’t get your heart set on adopting one of them — all six of the 6-week-old puppies are being adopted. In fact, Ustream.tv folks say each will get its own Web cam, so fans can continue watching them as they grow up.
A Ustream blog entry details all the media coverage this Web cam has gotten. It includes clips from CNN, the Today Show and MSNBC you can check out to learn more about how this Internet craze came to be.
I couldn’t believe 4 million people checked out the site — it’s just puppies, right? And there are tons of puppy cam sites out there. Why is this one so special, I wondered. Until I checked it out, of course. Then, I fell in love with them. Sure, I mostly watch them just sleep, but the first time I saw those fuzzy, adorable little guys romping around, I was hooked.
You will be too, I promise. Give it a look-see. You won’t be sorry you did — unless you’re supposed to be working!
