About a dozen children, most of them girls and many of them donning pink tutus and other fancy finery, flocked to the Stow-Munroe Falls Library Feb. 13 to meet Fancy Nancy, from the popular children’s series by author Jane O’Connor, with illustrations by Robin Preiss Glasser. “Fancy Nancy,” adapted for the stage by New York [...]

The Illusion Factory, a touring theater company which specializes in bringing shows to children and teens, staged an adaptation of “If You Take a Mouse to School” at the Cuyahoga Falls library. The children in the full auditorium really seemed to enjoy the antics of Mouse, and the frantic efforts of his friend the Boy [...]

Last Friday, I attended a talk given by Mark Dawidziak on theater ghosts. Well, I love theater and I’m a sucker for local ghost stories, so I decided to go. The evening also included a tour of the theater itself, which is supposedly haunted by multiple spirits. I didn’t really “sense” anything (other than the [...]

I created this one a while ago, but here is my sidebar video for Coach House Theatre’s production of “Deathtrap.” I think this is my first true “sidebar,” in none of the interviews had information in the article. There were some neat “behind the scenes” stories in this one, especially actor Tom Stephan’s story about [...]

I’ve had a busy past few weeks. Three more videos are — OK, have been — up now at the Record Publishing Co. sites. Two of the three events have already passed. Deathtrap at Western Reserve Playhouse. A short, sweet video. I had some fun getting some secondary shots of the set behind the actors [...]

After a brief hiatus, I filmed and edited some more videos to go with my stories: 1. http://www.fallsnewspress.com/news/article/4661899#bones Eric Millegan, who plays forensic anthropologist Dr. Zack Addy in the Fox television series “Bones,” visited Cuyahoga Falls to meet with fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures on Sept. 3. Really liked how this video turned out. [...]

Fancy Nancy would love it. The Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet will be performing a dance based on this popular children’s series about the girl who loves the latest in fashion and etiquette. For more information, see your weekly Record Publishing Co. newspaper — in print or online. I also put together a video of a [...]

I think I’m getting the hang of these. I completed another video sidebar for “The Andrews Brothers” at Western Reserve Playhouse. No videos from this past weekend, but I will probably have at least one for next week. Also, finished four books, so there will be more book reviews coming for this week.

I did a video sidebar on the costume department for Porthouse Theatre, which was preparing for “Annie Get Your Gun.” I also went out to Stan Hywet Hall July 19 for the Akron Cup, and took video snippets of the grounds, which highlight “Barkitecture.”
