Zurcher takes a trip to Hudson
Neil Zurcher, longtime host of “One Tank Trips” on Cleveland’s TV8, will bring his new book, Tales of the Road to the Learned Owl Book Shop, 204 N. Main St. in Hudson, June 19th from 2 to 3 p.m.
In this new book of memoirs Neil Zurcher tells entertaining stories from three decades as Ohio’s most popular TV travel reporter. As a longtime TV host, and later as a guidebook author and blogger, Neil has driven about a million miles in and around the Buckeye State and met thousands of interesting people along the way. Now he looks back and remembers many of his favorite moments, like the time he almost pulled the ejector handle while riding in a fighter jet, or escaping a raging hotel fire.
He also recalls some of his favorite One Tank Trips destinations, such as Clifton Mill, known for its brilliant holiday displays—and friends such as Komar, the Amish country cheesemaker who set a world record by lying on a bed of nails for 20 hours. Zurcher’s stories are more than just travel notes, they’re adventures from the Buckeye State and a snapshot of Cleveland television in its golden age.
He has written five books about Ohio, including Ohio Oddities and Strange Tales from Ohio as well as the One Tank Trips guidebooks to Ohio.
