plantar fasciitis — well, I know there are a lot of fans of Twilight out there, and that’s fine. We can agree to disagree on that one : ) I’ve heard the New Moon movie should be promising.

Scott — I’ve never read “All The President’s Men,” but I have seen the movie based on it. Otherwise, I agree with you on all points.

Just a few others!

Where the book was better: “Firestarter” by Stephen King.
Scary, intelligent book…a total page-turner. The movie is really strange because it has a really good cast (George C. Scott, Louise Fletcher, a young Drew Barrymore) and it’s a pretty decent adaptation…there’s nothing “wrong” with the movie, exactly. It just doesn’t have anywhere near the impact of the book.

Where the movie was better: “The Wizard of Oz.” I know some L. Frank Baum fans may disagree. I think the book was good, but basically it was a “template” for what has become an iconic, untouchably classic movie which stands far above the original material which inspired it.

Where the movie and the book were about equal: All the President’s Men by Carl Bernstein. Riveting book, excellent movie.

Thanks for the post. I agree with most of your opinions, except for Twilight. I like the book a lot more than the movie. But, I hope that’ll change with New Moon.
