Speaker Batchelder Issues Statement Regarding Rep. Mecklenborg
COLUMBUS—In light of recent developments, Speaker of the Ohio House William G. Batchelder (R-
Medina) released the following statement:
“My friend and colleague Bob Mecklenborg is a dedicated public servant with an exemplary
record of serving the people of Ohio and the 30th District. His contributions to the Ohio House
have been vital to the work of this fine institution.
“I was shocked and disappointed to learn of the difficult situation that Representative
Mecklenborg and his family are facing. We are working with Representative Mecklenborg to
find a solution that is in the best interests of the representative, his family and all concerned. I
ask that members of the media and public respect the privacy of Rep. Mecklenborg and his
family at this time.”

Regarding Representative Mecklenborg:
We the government of this Representative Republic are NOT responsible to respect privacy of public Representative Mecklenborg.
Everything Representative Mecklenborg does or does not do; is the business of US the Government of this Representative Republic!
It is obvious that Representative Mecklenborg(with the help of Speaker Batchelder and his lawyers) are planning to enact the Austin Kearns defense(Austin Kearns is in the Indians OF, who is fighting his DUI by saying the state trooper in Kentucky was out of jurisdiction and no legal right to pull over Kearns).
Regardless, how you spin this, the fact is that Mecklenborg could have KILLED someone by his reckless decision.
>>I ask that members of the media and public respect the privacy of Rep. Mecklenborg and his family at this time.”
His family deserves privacy. Too bad he acted in ways which are so likely to adversely affect them.
Arrests of anyone, public official or private citizen are a matter of public record. Why does Speaker Batchelder think otherwise?
“We are working with Representative Mecklenborg to find a solution that is in the best interests of the representative..”
A.K.A. get the prosecutor in Indiana to drop the charges.
