Brown: Ohio has been among the states hardest hit by the current recession
Here’s the release:
CLEVELAND, OH – As Congress and the Obama administration craft a stimulus package, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today sent a letter to President-elect Barack Obama advocating for specific priorities to be included in the final bill. The letter also was sent to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
Ohio has been among the states hardest hit by the current recession.
“As you work with Congress to craft an economic stimulus package, I urge you to acknowledge the disproportionate impact of the economic downturn on states like Ohio by taking factors like higher than average unemployment and foreclosure rates into account as you allocate stimulus funding. The effects of the economic crisis have been uneven, and to be effective, our nation’s economic stimulus strategy should reflect that reality,” Brown wrote.
Since 2000, Ohio has lost 200,000 manufacturing jobs, leads the nation in young people leaving the state – or – “brain drain”, has an unemployment rate above the national average, a record-high foreclosure rate, and has aging water and sewer lines and bridges across the state.
“Like most states across the country, the opportunities for infrastructure investment in Ohio are many. Ohio’s decaying water and sewer lines demand immediate investment. In addition, small towns and rural communities are struggling to make needed improvements in water infrastructure, including addressing combined sewage overflows,” Brown wrote.
Brown highlighted alternative energy funding as an area that could put Ohio – and the nation – on a new path for economic success. Brown has been working with Ohio businesses and universities to advance alternative energy research and development, commercialization, and component parts manufacturing.
“…making crucial investments in alternative and renewable energy will boost an industry that not only holds tremendous economic potential for the country, but is fundamental to our nation’s energy independence,” Brown wrote.
Brown also underscored the importance of securing Ohio’s safety net programs – programs even more important to Ohio families during economic downturns.
“It is in our nation’s interest to ensure that states can maintain these basic services, and that they can sustain Medicaid, a federal-state health and long-term care partnership that covers 1 in 5 children and 1 in 3 nursing home residents in Ohio.”
And here’s the letter:

It’s a shame Senator Sherrod Brown has to send a letter to President Elect Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi advocating for specific priorities in the stimulus package.
Every Human Being that can walk and chew gum at the same time knows: That complying with demands of Natural Law (what Mother Nature, God, or Whatever Power decreed to be the reality of the real world), God, democracy, capitalism, the US Constitution, and free, fair, and affordable commerce.
Demanding every corporation, farmer, business, outsourcer sweatshop, and nonprofit, tax-exempt, organization and Church markets the total cost in the wholesale and retail price of his or her product and service. Of every worker, consumer, and taxpayer paying for every product and service they use for life. With money derived from wages or independent business profit including pension and health care. Enabling parents to love, nurse, nurture, discipline, protect, and provide, for every child (job) they conceive and fund schools, infrastructure, national security, government services, and etc.; with money derived from wages or independent business profit.
Would enable free, fair, and affordable commerce. Make balancing every budget POSSIBLE. Make funding schools POSSIBLE. Make union workers, consumers, taxpayers, and America’s grandchildren’s children LIFE AFFORDABLE and create a peaceful, tranquil World environment.
Scamming Fathers disqualified for affirmative action with white skin, Union workers, consumers, taxpayers, and Americas grandchildren. To Fund unemployed and low-income workers, casino, keno, and lottery losers, waitresses that pander for life for $2.00 per hour, volunteers without wages, and nonunion parasites willing to work for fewer wages than they can afford life.
Paying for the more stock dividends (money) OPEC nations and Enron stockholders, Investors and stockholders in the Illegal Drug Business, Business owners stockholders, Financial Institutions investors and stockholders, Bulls on Wall Street, Hillarys, Wal-Mart stockholders, and foreign and domestic investors (money marketers) market quarterly. In the wholesale and retail price of every product and service Human Beings use for life. That gets only product or service. To measure and maintain the strength and growth of this unaffordable economy and prove that only money that can only be used to identify agreed value of sellers and buyers in the marketplace has value?
Pay sales tax on the more stock dividends (money) investors and stockholders market quarterly in the wholesale and retail price of every product and service Human Beings use for life, and pay for meth with welfare checks.
Pay for the more stock dividends (money) Hillarys (money marketers) market quarterly in the wholesale and retail price of food with food stamps.
Pay property tax and interest on lottery winner’s winnings legislators invest in school bonds with housing vouchers.
Pay for the more stock dividends (money) Hillarys (money marketers) market quarterly in the wholesale and retail price of prescription drugs and health care with Medicaid.
With money derived from wages or independent business profit. To distribute wealth!
Supports the demise of Natural Law, God, democracy, capitalism, the US Constitution, and free, fair, and affordable commerce. Makes free, fair, and affordable commerce IMPOSSIBLE, Makes balancing every budget IMPOSSIBLE. Makes funding schools IMPOSSIBLE. Makes union workers, consumers, taxpayers, and America’s grandchildren’s children LIFE UNAFFORDABLE. And created the $40 trillion social security and the $9.3 trillion national debt. America’s grandchildren’s children are responsible to pay interest with until they are 18 years old.
Then pay the debt with the $6.85 per hour labor wage. Twenty six percent of We the stupid, defiant of demands of natural law (what Mother Nature, God, or Whatever Power decreed to be the reality of the real world) God, democracy, capitalism, the US Constitution, and free, fair, and affordable commerce. Deceived in Sunday schools, public schools, private schools, and home schools, colleges, and universities government of the people, by the people, for the people, elected legislators and representatives to enact.
There is no reason to believe America’s grandchildren’s children that go to bed hungry can afford life and pay this debt with money derived from wages or independent business profit in a hundred million years.
