(Columbus)  The Ohio Air Quality Development Authority (OAQDA), at its August meeting, approved a grant of $398,406 in Ohio Coal Development Office funds to support a three-year study to demonstrate management systems for mine lands that will result in terrestrial sequestration of CO2, i.e., sequestration as soil humus and/or sequestration of carbon in trees.

COLUMBUS – State Representative Stephen Dyer (D-Green) today announced he is working on legislation to make it illegal to buy or sell an official law enforcement agency uniform without proper authorization. 
The bill is in response to a situation this week in which an armed man allegedly entered Manchester High School wearing a Summit County Sheriff’s Deputy uniform. News reports say he had no connection to the agency, and is accused of impersonating a police officer among other charges.

AAA projects a slight decrease in the number of Americans traveling during the Labor Day holiday weekend. Nearly 34.38 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this Labor Day holiday weekend, down 0.9 percent, or almost 320,000 Americans, from the 34.7 million who traveled last year. This year marks the first decline in Labor Day holiday travel since 2006.

(Denver)–While Ohio’s delegates to the Democratic National Convention will return home with campaign buttons, tee-shirts, and lots of energy, their party’s nominee for Attorney General is bringing with him a real prize: a personal endorsement of his candidacy by Barack Obama.
The Presidential candidate made the following statement on Cordray’s behalf:
“Richard Cordray was the first statewide elected official in Ohio to endorse my candidacy. It is my pleasure to now endorse Rich as Ohio’s next Attorney General.

Here’s Cordray’s response to Crites’ response to the Inspector General’s report on use of state aircraft by Dann, as per my earlier post:
I am just as outraged as anyone by Marc Dann’s conduct, which is why I joined with Governor Strickland and Ohio’s Democratic State Leadership to demand his resignation, which we received more than three months ago.
