I’ve made no secret about my current disdain for a certain coffee chain, which I ceased patronizing a few months back after yet another bout of poor customer service (15-minute wait for two regular cups of coffee — and I was the only person in line).
It was no surprise to me when that chain announced it would close hundreds of locations, thanks to unfavorable business conditions.

COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Wildlife Council has approved the state’s early migratory bird hunting seasons for this fall, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.
September 1 will kick off the state’s hunting seasons with the opening of dove, Canada goose, rail, moorhen, and snipe. Squirrel hunting season also starts that day.

Ohio’s unemployment rate was 6.6 percent in June, up from 6.3 percent in May, according to data released this morning by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Ohio’s nonfarm wage and salary employment increased 7,900 over the month, from 5,416,800 in May, to 5,424,700 in June.
“Workers continued to enter the labor force in June at a rate greater than the actual hiring demand,” said ODJFS Director Helen Jones-Kelley. “Again this month, the increase in the unemployment rate was coupled with a rise in employment.”
